Last week I had Johnny FD on the show, talking about how he built an ecommerce business that now allows him to live and travel in Thailand, running his business remotely. Johnny mentioned the Anton Method, which is a particular approach to niche selection and setting up a dropship site.
Well, I wanted to go straight to the source, so today I have the guy behind the Anton Method, Anton Kraly, on the show to talk about his own background, how he built multiple online businesses and then sold many of them, and how he’s now living and traveling in Vietnam while running his businesses.
Anton is an incredibly inspiring entrepreneur who’s a great example of quickly building a successful business, and I’m excited to share our conversation with you.

I personally would recommend not revealing the niches you’re entering (who needs extra competition if things start going really well for you?) but either way I wish you all the best and am looking forward to meeting up in SE Asia or some other part of the world.

I think that for any stores I start using your method, I probably will not reveal the niche. This makes sense if you’re drop shipping and if most of your traffic is paid, since it would be easier for a competitor to pop in and use the same suppliers and start competing for the same ads. On the other hand, if you depend more on content marketing, SEO, and other long-term strategies that make it more difficult to copy someone else’s success, and if you are making your own product or buying wholesale, there’s a higher barrier to entry and it seems like it would be less important to keep your niche a secret.
